Today Petra and I went to the Rodeo Houston parade downtown. We parked at my work office parking garage and made our way down the street to find a good viewing location near the end of the route. We waved at all of the groups of cowboys and cowgirls that rode by, and we had a nice time overall.

After we went back to our Airbnb and then we went to REI so she could exchange the birkenstocks I got her for her birthday for a smaller-sized pair. THey look great and fit great, and I’m happy she found something she likes. I hope they last her a long time and she enjoys wearing them.

After that, we got stuck in really bad traffic driving through the Galleria area. Never drive near the Galleria on Westheimer on a Saturday. THe people driving in the area are absolutely retarded, and we narrowly avoided a few near-accidents. Thankfully I’ve learned how to anticipate when someone is going to do something stupid, most of the time. As always, the goal in driving is to stay away from the idiots, and to stay away from other cars in general. They just cannot touch. I’m amazed there aren’t more accidents.

After that, we came back and changed clothes (or, Petra did anyway) and then we went downtown to Discovery Green because of a supposed Barbecue and Hot Sauce Festival” that was purported to be taking place from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Before we even left the house, I was starting to doubt whether this event even existed. It was clearly listed on the visithoustontx.com website in their things to do this weekend” column, and it appeared in some
